As the title suggests, the story takes place in the city of Guntur. Ramana (Mahesh Babu) falls in love with a journalist who works to expose the illegal activities in the city. In addition, there is tension between Ramana, who has been estranged by his mother.

According to Sacnilk, the latest advance bookings of Guntur Kaaram surpassed a mammoth Rs 15 Crore in India. The All India Guntur Kaaram (So far) earned Rs 15.23 Crore by selling 640636 tickets for as many as 4459 shows.
