HanuMan Box Office Collection: Teja Sajja-Prasanth Varma's Fantasy Drama Enters Triple Profit Zone In Telugu

HanuMan, the first ever Indian superhero film made in Tollywood was released to remarkable feedback at the box office on January 12 for Sankranti. The movie has been running successfully ever since with immense word-of-mouth and is spinning money at the box office in India and overseas.

Written and directed by passionate filmmaker Prasanth Varma, the movie stars Teja Sajja as the protagonist Hanumanthu. The movie is getting widespread acclaim for various factors especially with viewers heaping praise on the VFX team for pulling off a humongous deal within a restricted budget.

HanuMan Premise
HanuMan is touted to be the first of its kind Indian superhero film in which the protagonist Hanumanthu will receive superpowers through Lord Hanuma's Rudhiramani. As the power-thirsty antagonist, Michael eyes his Rudhiramani to become a superhuman, his attempts are thwarted. He then wages a war to put an end to the atrocities that happen in his village called Anjanadri.

Prasanth Varma's first installment of the PVCU superhero films, HanuMan minted over Rs 150 Crore overseas and is aiming towards crossing Rs 100 Crore in India. It has already surpassed the magic figure of break-even in all the Telugu regions, becoming a triple blockbuster. The movie entered the profit-making zone in the two Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Out of all the Sankranti releases, HanuMan has done commercially well so far and films like Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram and Venkatesh's Saindhav are yet to achieve break-even. Check out the tweet below.

Teja Sajja played Hanumanthu, Amritha Aiyer played his love interest Meenakshi, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar was cast in the role of Hanumanthu's sister Anjamma. This first Telugu superhero film also boasts of actors Vennela Kishore, Satya, Samuthirakani, Vinay Rai, Getup Srinu, Raj Deepak Shetty, Koushik Mahata, and Bhanu Prakash among others playing pivotal characters.
