Teja Sajja is a popular name in the Telugu film industry. His last release, Hanuman, has done wonders at the box office and even the film's Hindi dubbed version has done very well. The film has collected around Rs. 188 crore at the box office (all languages), and the Hindi version has minted around Rs. 49 crore till now. In Hindi, it is expected that the movie will reach the Rs. 50 crore mark which is excellent.
Filmibeat recently interacted with Teja and when asked if he expected that Hanuman will get such an amazing response, the actor said, "No! We knew that we were onto something and we had something great. We have made it with a lot of passion. We knew that audience will love this film if they watch it, but we had never imagined that accross the nation, it will such a great opening, and such a huge love pouring in from all the corners of India. We didn't imagine this."
Teja Sajja - The New Pan-India Star
As soon as a South film does well in the Hindi belt, people on social media start referring the male lead as the pan-India star and that's what has happened with Teja as well. When we asked him about how he feels being called a pan-India star, the actor stated, "To be honest nothing because I have been in films since I was two and a half years old. I have been a part of biggest blockbuster films in Telugu; we call them industry hits in Telugu . S, I have been a part of those film which have been the biggest hits in the industry."
"So, I know for a fact that in my next film, I have to put the same kind of effort. For my next film, I will worry as much as I worried about Hanuman and everything should fall in place again for my next film. So, I know that and I am quite grounded in that way I think. This doesn't get to me," he added.
Hanuman clashed at the box office with Katrina Kaif's Merry Christmas, and the Hindi version of the Telugu film has collected more than Katrina's movies.
