HanuMan: Teja Sajja Rejects 75 Films, Undergoes Scuba Diving & Did Own Stunts For This EPIC; Read Full Story

Teja Sajja debuted in Tollywood as a child actor in 1998 with Padma Vibhushan awardee, megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Choodalani Vundi.' He rose to popularity for his chubby and innocent looks. After doing a couple of films alongside Venkatesh, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Allu Arjun, Pawan Kalyan, and Jr NTR, Teja Sajja became a supporting actor with Samantha Ruth Prabhu-starrer 'Oh Baby' in 2019.

The 29-year-old made his solo hero debut with Prasanth Varma's Zombie Reddy, which made him a notable actor. The latest film HanuMan sealed him as one of the promising talents in India.

HanuMan Premise

HanuMan is touted to be the first of its kind Indian superhero film in which the protagonist Hanumanthu will receive superpowers through Lord Hanuma's Rudhiramani. As the power-thirsty antagonist, Michael eyes his Rudhiramani to become a superhuman, his attempts are thwarted. He then wages a war to put an end to the atrocities that happen in his village called Anjanadri.

Teja Sajja Rejects 75 Films For HanuMan

Teja Sajja, who rose to stardom and also proved his mettle as an actor after making his debut as a lead actor recently revealed that he rejected about 75 stories and scripts to be part of HanuMan, Prasanth Varma's visionary production. As per a report on a news portal, Teja Sajja even liked 15 of them, which were decent. He spent a good two and a half years working for HanuMan.

Sharing some other interesting details about his working experience on HanuMan, Teja added, "I took 25 look tests before zeroing in on the current look for HanuMan. I worked on all my stunts without a body double. Due to the restricted budget and to enhance the quality of the scene, we did not use much VFX for my stunts. I underwent some scuba diving training to shoot for the underwater scenes.

HanuMan Cast

Teja Sajja played the protagonist Hanumanthu in HanuMan. Amritha Aiyer is his love interest Meenakshi, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar is Hanumanthu's sister Anjamma. This first Telugu superhero film also boasts Vennela Kishore, Satya, Vinay Rai, Getup Srinu, Raj Deepak Shetty, Samuthirakani, Koushik Mahata, and Bhanu Prakash among others playing pivotal characters.

Written and directed by Prasanth Varma, HanuMan is the production venture of K Niranjan Reddy under his banner Prime Show Entertainment. Hari Gowra and Krishna Saurabh worked on the film's background score and music. Dasaradhi Sivendra cranked the camera while Saibabu Talari worked as the editor.
