IFFI 2024: The Mystery Behind Megha Akash And Naresh Agastya’s Masked Look At IFFI

Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash starrer ZEE5 original series, Vikkatakavi: The Chronicles of Amaragiri premiered at one of the most prestigious film festivals of India, 55th International Film Festival of India, Goa on 23rd November. The cast and crew including actors Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash, Director Pradeep Maddali and writer Teja Desharaj were in great spirits as they graced the red carpet and watched the show for the first time in a packed auditorium.

Amidst the suspense and drama surrounding Vikkatakavi at IFFI, Naresh Agastya and Megha Akash were spotted wearing a mask throughout the red carpet and premiere. When asked about their choice to wear the mask, the leading actors explained, "The mask is a key element of Vikkatakavi's plot as the series centers around a hazardous smoke released into the air that endangers the villagers. So, we wore masks to draw attention towards the unique storyline of our show. And we are glad that we got to do this at a prestigious platform like IFFI. I hope via this unique photo-opp, we managed to pique people's curiosity about our show and post the fabulous premiere at IFFI, we are looking forward to Vikkatakavi's release on ZEE5".

Telangana's first-ever detective series, Vikkatakavi, is a gripping period thriller that unravels the region's rich history against the backdrop of Amaragiri, a province on the brink of being submerged. The story follows Ramakrishna, a detective drawn into a perplexing mystery: villagers who venture into the Nallamalla Forest at night are emerging with no memory of their experiences-a phenomenon attributed to the curse of a goddess. As Ramakrishna investigates, he discovers a web of secrets tied to a historical conspiracy, political scheming, and the tragic death of the king's son. Each revelation peels back layers of Amaragiri's shadowed past, exposing truths far darker than anyone imagined. After receiving an overwhelming response at IFFI, Vikkatakavi is now set to premiere on ZEE5 on November 28.
