Record Indra Re-Release Advance Bookings: Indra, the epic and sensational trend-setting film featuring megastar Chiranjeevi in the title role was an immense hit when it was first released on July 24 2002. The movie was directed by B. Gopal and stars the late Aarthi Agarwal and Sonali Bendre as the female lead actors.

Indra is one of the first Tollywood's record-setting hit films with a gross of over Rs 55 Crore against a budget of Rs 10 Crore. The movie is going to re-release across the Telugu states on August 22, to mark the birthday celebrations of Chiranjeevi.

Indra All-Time Industry Records

Chiranjeevi's Indra when it was released was the highest-grossing Telugu film in Tollywood (2002). Also, Indra holds the record of 'all-time highest-grossing South-Indian film' which surpassed superstar Rajinikanth's 'Padayappa.' Indra was dubbed into Hindi with the same name and was remade in Bengali and Bangladeshi Bengali.

The makers of the film, Vyjayanthi Movies, who produced the epic film Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas, have kickstarted promotions of the film 'Indra' ahead of the re-release. They came up with limited edition merchandise in the form of T-shirts.

Mani Sharma composed the entire background score and music.
