The actor, who enjoyed a sea-like women fan following during his career-peaks, is now enthralling the new generation audiences with his versatility by playing the antagonist roles with super ease and conviction.
Soundarya's Close Friendship With Venkatesh & Jagapathi Babu
The actors and the late actress were a favourite onscreen pair and they brought to life many characters they played as a wife and husband in more than seven movies they acted together. On the other hand, Jagapathi Babu and Soundarya enjoyed a good friendship and chemistry off the screen.
Many a time, even before the social media and internet era, there were rumours that the two were more than best friends and had been dating. Until Soundarya got married to her relative in 2003, a year before her very unfortunate death, the gossips about them were rife.
Jagapathi Babu, who is also close friends with the late Soundarya's brother Amarnath, who also died on the spot along with the actress, recently spoke about his relationship with Soundarya in an interview to a YouTube channel.
During the interview, when Jagapathi Babu was asked about his state of mind after coming to know about Soundarya's death, the actor said, "I believe in philosophy. It always stays there in my head. We all know that we die. Human loss is something that impacts and changes a person entirely. Money and other such things can be earned if lost but it is not going to be the same for a person. But after losing a close person, it doesn't mean that I need to cry. There is always a feeling of missing them and the pain.
When I first learned about Soundarya's death, I asked after Amar. Then I was told that Amar too was gone in the crash. At that moment, more than her death news, I thought about things like what happens to her mother. what about Amar's children and wife? what about their property distribution? My mind was overflowing with these thoughts. I didn't cry for her death but the feeling about her family pained me more," told the Salaar actor.
The late Soundarya would slip into the character she played and she was the reigning queen for almost two decades. She shared screen space with megastar Chiranjeevi in four films and a Kannada picture, she acted with late superstar Krishna in five films, five each with Nagarjuna, Rajashekhar, and Mohan Babu and as many as eight movies with Venkatesh, until her death.
