Kamal Haasan's Role In Kalki 2898 AD Revealed: Prabhas is ready to unleash his massive prowess through an epic science fiction film, the costliest one ever made in India, Kalki 2898 AD. The movie which boasts Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone among others is going to hit the screens on a mammoth scale on June 27.

After becoming a pan-India star, Prabhas signed many films which are mostly multiple-language releases featuring stars. This film is even more special as Rs 600 Crore went into its making, the highest to date in India. Written and directed by Nag Ashwin, the National Award-winning film director, Kalki 2898 AD aka Project K has all eyes set on it.

Set in the modern city of Kashi, Prabhas plays Bhairava and Deepika Padukone will be seen in the role of Padma. Veteran Amitabh Bachchan's character of Ashwattama was introduced recently and now fans are awaiting the reveal of Kamal Haasan's antagonist character Kali.

Kamal Haasan's Kali Role Is Based On Kamsa From Mythology?

It was revealed by Kamal Haasan earlier that he is playing a guest role as an antagonist in Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD. His role is called Kali and the latest buzz reveals that is is based on the mythological character of Kamsudu aka Kamsa. Now that the makers are unveiling details of the film's characters and their traits one after the other, it is the turn of Kamal Haasan to get his official look poster and information about his role Kali in Kalki 2898 AD.

The movie stars Prabhas as Bhairava, an alter ego of Kalki, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwattama, Kamal Haasan as Kali, Deepika Padukone as Padma, Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, Pasupathy, and Anna Ben among others in key roles.

Written and directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie is being made on a whopping budget of Rs 600 Crore by Vyjayanthi Movies banner helmed by C Aswini Dutt. Djordje Stojilijkovic is cranking the camera and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is working as the film's editor. Santhosh Narayanan composed the film's entire background score and music.
