Kalki 2898 AD Opening Day Worldwide Advance Bookings: Kalki 2898 AD, the most expensive film ever made in India on a budget of Rs 600 Crore is finally a few hours away from its grand world premiere on June 27 in five languages. Starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan in key roles among others, the movie is written and directed by Nag Ashwin, a National Award-winning filmmaker.

Without a single event in the two Telugu states or even a media interaction, the filmmakers of Kalki 2898 AD have managed to create a humongous buzz for their sci-fi movie with the image of Prabhas. The advance bookings for the star-studded film worldwide are beyond crazy and Prabhas has just pushed the benchmark ten times.

Kalki 2898 AD Synopsis

The movie is panned from the period of 3100 BC to 2898 AD making it a mythological science fiction genre. Bhairava, a resident of a post-apocalyptic city Kashi, wants to earn enough units to move to The Complex, a city where there is everything and only for the elite. On the other hand, there is also a city called Shambala, which is a refugee camp for the downtrodden. Meanwhile, Aswattama, who vows to protect the child of Sumathi aka SUM 80, faces Bhairava, who is on a mission to capture SUM 80 to go to the Complex.

Not only is Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD is the first Indian film to earn a mammoth 4 Million USD in advance bookings ahead of the theatrical release already but also is the first film to have sold over one lakh (100,000) tickets for its premiere. It is an all-time record and the Cinemark theatre chain has grossed over 1.3 Million USD through pre-sales, which is also the first for the popular theatre group.
