Nag Ashwin About Kalki 2898 AD Part 2: Kalki 2898 AD starring a stellar cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone has been on a mass rampage at the worldwide box office ever since it hit the screens to sky-high expectations on June 27. The movie written and directed by Nag Ashwin is the costliest film produced in India to date and has re-written all existing records for the country at the global box office.

Featuring Prabhas as Bhairava, Kalki 2898 AD is a sci-fi film infused with elements of Mahabharata, Indian mythology. It occurs in the dystopian future called Kashi, the world's last city. There is a Complex, a community for the privileged, and Bhairava's only aim is to become its resident.

Nag Ashwin Talks About Kalki Part 2; Roles Of Vijay Deverakonda & Dulquer Salmaan

Overwhelmed by the response Kalki 2898 AD has been getting from all over the world, writer-director Nag Ashwin spoke about what went into the filmmaking and the sequel in which there is going to be a face-off between the three main characters. He elaborated on the cameos of Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salmaan. While Vijay Deverakonda was seen as Arjuna, Dulquer Salmaan appeared in the cameo of a character named Captain, who rescues and adopts Bhairava, making him the hero of Kashi.

Answering to a question posed by the interviewer, Nag Ashwin replied to the possibility of seeing both characters in the sequel, " "I mean, they are pretty much limited to what role they have. Obviously, it is possible to expand it into something else, especially for Dulquer Salmaan."

Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas as Bhairava, a bounty hunter, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwattama, Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Deepika Padukone as SUM-80, Disha Patani as Roxie, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas, Brahmanandam as Rajan, Bhairava's landlord, Pasupathy as Veeram, a rebel from Shambhala, Anna Ben as Kyra, Shobana, Harshith Malgireddy, Rajendra Prasad, and Keerthy Suresh (voice-over) as BU-JZ-1 alias Bujji.

Kalki 2898 AD was written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Vyjayanthi Movies banner is bankrolling the film on a massive budget of Rs 600 Crore. Djordje Stojilijkovic is cranking the camera for this science fiction action thriller. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao worked as the film's editor. Santhosh Narayanan is the film's music composer.
