Kalki 2898 AD Surpasses Jawan In India: Jawan, written and directed by Atlee was released in 2023 amid sky-high expectations and became one of the highest-grosser from India worldwide. Made on a budget of Rs 300 Crore by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment banner, Jawan starring Deepika Padukone and Nayanthara in her Bollywood debut made an estimated Rs 1,148.32 Crore. Jawan earned Rs 640.25 Crore in India at the box office, according to the report on Hindustan Times Telugu.

Prabhas Beats Shah Rukh Khan At Indian Box Office

By earning about Rs 640.30 Crore in India in 41 days, Prabhas-Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD beat Jawan. Now, the movie climbed to fourth position among the highest-grossing films in the country after RRR, KGF 2, and Baahubali. Kalki 2898 AD had already surpassed Rs 1100 Crore gross worldwide.

Kalki 2898 AD marks the Tollywood debut of Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. Jawan is the maiden project in Tamil for Shah Rukh Khan and first for Atlee in Bollywood. After Jawan and its humongous success, Atlee is now focusing on making pan-India films with top Bollywood stars. Recently, his project with Allu Arjun was cancelled due to Atlee's demand for Rs 100 Crore as remuneration.

Kalki 2898 AD Synopsis
Set in the dystopian city named Kashi, Kalki 2898 AD follows the story of Bhairava (Prabhas) a bounty hunter whose only aim is to move to the Complex ruled by the Supreme Yaskin. There is Ashwattama, who has been waiting to find SUM 80 and her child in the womb. When Bhairava sets off to capture SUM 80, he has to face Ashwattama and other forces.

The movie was written and directed by Nag Ashwin. Vyjayanthi Movies banner is bankrolling the film on a massive budget of Rs 600 Crore. Djordje Stojilijkovic is cranking the camera for this science fiction action thriller. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao worked as the film's editor. Santhosh Narayanan composed the film's entire music and sound.
