Fans Upset With Deepika Padukone: Kalki 2898 AD is the costliest and most prestigious Indian production coming from Tollywood's Vyjayanthi Movies helmed by C Aswini Dutt and his two daughters- Swapna and Priya. The 50-year-old production house delivered industry hits over the years and embarked on a mammoth task of making Kalki 2898 AD with the renowned and most highly paid actors in the country.
The National Award-winning production house, director, and filmmakers joined hands for this Rs 600 Crore film featuring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles.
Set in the dystopian era of the future, the movie is of a science fiction thriller genre. After announcing the official release date as June 27, makers have organized a massive character introduction pre-release event on May 22 in Hyderabad, at the specially erected set.
Kalki 2898 AD Bujji Unveiled
At this massive stage where over 50,000 fans of Prabhas have gathered in support, the filmmakers introduced Bujji, the brains behind the specially designed and built flying car, exclusively for Kalki 2898 AD with real technology and support from Mahindra.
Bujji vehicle, which has a voice-over by Keerthy Suresh, captivated the audiences and fans with its unique features and striking design. Prabhas drove the car out of the podium and took it for a spin for a continuous five minutes, much to the delight of the fans and onlookers.
However, as Prabhas spoke highly of the actors with whom he got to share the screen space, for this film including Deepika Padukone, the actress failed to acknowledge the character reveal of Bujji.
Why Fans Are Disappointed With Deepika Padukone
Deepika Padukone is the leading lady of Kalki 2898 AD marking her grand Tollywood debut alongside Prabhas and she often maintains touch-me-not kind of relationship with the film.
Not only did Deepika Padukone not mention Bujji and the epic event in any of her social media accounts or posts, but she also failed to acknowledge the event in total. In addition, the fans have also pointed out that when the film's teaser glimpse was released, it took her two days to talk about it on her status.
Being part of such a huge-scale production and taking so much remuneration, Deepika Padukone's stand for Kalki 2898 AD is incomprehensible for industry insiders and fans. There are also upset with the filmmakers for not noticeably kick-starting the promotions.
On the other hand, Deepika Padukone, the 38-year-old A-list actress is expecting her first child with her husband Ranveer Singh. The duo dated each other for six years before tying the knot in Italy at Lake Como in 2018. Even a few days before the wedding ceremony, Deepika Padukone dodged away questions about her impending marriage on the Koffee With Karan show.
The couple are spending quality time together to enjoy the pregnancy and the baby is likely to be delivered in September this year.
