Kalki 2898 AD: Prabhas' Prestigious Film With Deepika Padukone, Kamal Hassan Postponed? Here's The Update

Prabhas, the pan-India star is currently juggling between the sets of his two upcoming films which include the most prestigious production titled 'KALKI 2898 AD.' The movie is in the news for back-to-back updates.

The filming finally began in July 2021 at a futuristic set designed and erected at Ramoji Film City. The Production department also commissioned high-end vehicles for the film for which they collaborated with Mahindra & Mahindra.

The movie is being helmed by Nag Ashwin. Vyjayanthi Movies banner is bankrolling the film on a massive budget of Rs 600 Crore. Djordje Stojilijkovic is cranking the camera for this science fiction action thriller. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao worked as the film's editor. Santhosh Narayanan is the film's music composer.

Kalki 2898 AD Postponed?

Earlier, the makers of the film thrilled the fans of the respective actors with the release date announcement. The Prabhas-starrer is said to be hitting the screens worldwide on May 9, the most sentimental day for the Vyjayanti banners. However, the latest buzz says otherwise.

Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD is the first ever science fiction film being made in India with a stellar cast roped in for pivotal roles. The makers of the film boast of their casting which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani among others. We might also expect several stunning cameos in the form of Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, and Rana.

Owing to the scale the film has been mounted on, the expectations reached beyond the sky. There is also a buzz about the film being split into three parts, in addition to the pre-conceived two parts.

The amount of VFX for Kalki 2898 AD is rather huge and the makers now have only two months to get the desired output. At the very same time, if the out is not up to the mark, it would cost them a lot not only in terms of money. The team also wants to spend a solid two months to promote the movie. The shooting part is yet to be finished. Going by these factors that are pivotal for a film's theatrical release, Kalki 2898 AD might not be able to come on time. However, there is no official confirmation of the same and the makers are yet to comment on it.
