Unfortunately, the movie which stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in key roles met with mixed reactions and severe criticism by a section of fans and viewers, impacting its opening weekend collections.

Kanguva Synopsis
Francis (Suriya) is a bounty hunter and his ex-girlfriend played by Disha Patani is his competition. When Francis accidentally meets a boy in Goa, he remembers his relationship with the boy from his previous life. The movie then dates back to the period of a mighty warrior Kanguva. Who is Kanguva? How did he protect his clan? Is Francis Kanguva? The answers to these questions form the crux of the Kanguva movie.

Suriya, who is fondly called the 'adopted child' of the Tollywood film industry, started with his latest actioner Kanguva on a grand note at the box office. The movie made about Rs 5 Crore from the two Telugu-speaking states on its release date. In the film, Suriya plays dual roles as Kanguva and Francis Theodore, while Bobby Deol takes on the role of antagonist Udhiran, and Disha Patani stars as Angelina. The supporting cast features Natarajan Subramaniam, K. S. Ravikumar, Yogi Babu as Colt 95, Redin Kingsley as Accelerator, and other notable talents like Kovai Sarala, Mansoor Ali Khan, Vatsan Chakravarthy, Ravi Raghavendra, Karunas, Bose Venkat, Harish Uthaman, Anandaraj, T. The movie is jointly produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, V Vamsi Krishna Reddy, and Pramod Uppalapati under the Studio Green and UV Creations banners. Vetri Palanisamy handled the movie's cinematography and Nishadh Yusuf was working as its editor. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film's entire soundtrack including background score and tunes.
