Mohan Babu is facing charges of "attempt to murder" for allegedly attacking a video journalist on the night of Tuesday, December 10. The Pahadishareef police initially registered a case under Section 188 of the BNS Act, which criminalizes the unauthorized removal of coining tools or instruments from an Indian mint. However, following the medical reports of the injured journalist, the charges were revised to Section 109 (attempt to murder) under the BNS Act.

What Exactly Happened?

Reports suggest that Mohan Babu and his son, Manchu Manoj, are embroiled in a family dispute, which came to public attention when the actor filed a police complaint against his son and wife, accusing them of attempting to seize his Jalpally residence. Upon learning of the matter, a TV9 journalist visited Mohan Babu's house to cover the story. It is reported that Manchu Manoj tried to enter his father's Jalpally residence but was denied entry. As journalists arrived to document the situation, Mohan Babu became enraged at their presence and, in a fit of anger, grabbed the reporter's microphone and struck him on the head. The injured journalist was quickly rushed to the hospital for treatment. As per the recent learning, the journalist is currently hospitalized and is facing a fractured skull.

In response to the incident, media personnel staged a protest on Wednesday, demanding an apology from the actor for his actions toward the journalist. Meanwhile, Mohan Babu sought medical attention at a hospital, citing health issues and injuries sustained during the confrontation.
