Exclusive! Hi Nanna Actress Mrunal Thakur Says, "I Am Extremely Grateful To My Telugu Audience"

Mrunal Thakur is one of the most popular names in the Indian film industry. She started her acting career with television, and her first film was Love Sonia which received a lot of critical acclaim. In Hindi, she has worked in multiple biggies like Super 30, Batla House, Dhamaka, Toofaan, and others. But, it was 2022 release Telugu film Sita Ramam that got Mrunal in the limelight.

Sita Ramam became a hit in Telugu, and after its success down South, the film was dubbed and released in Hindi as well. While many Bollywood films were no getting a good response at the box office in 2022, Sita Ramam's Hindi version was received well.

Filmibeat interacted with Mrunal recently, and our journalist reminded her that post Dhamaka, she had mentioned that she is a nervous about working in Telugu film (she was shooting for Sita Ramam at that time) as it's a new industry for her.

So, when we asked her that now she feels like home there, the actress said, "Yes, I feel. That's also because of my upbringing was. I have changed 11 schools, not because I was thrown away (smiles), it was because my dad had a transferabble job and I am trained to get used to the weather, the people, the situation. That's one of the reasons why I could live in a hostel, it's like if you can drive in Mumbai, you can drive anywehere in the world."

"There is some belongingness and I am extremely grateful to my Telugu audience because I think that things that didn't happen to me in Hindi; I mean it will happen, but it has not happened yet, which happened in Telugu. I am grateful to all my filmmakers who have given me an opportunity because if they wouldn't have shown immense faith in me, it wouldn't have shaped up, the way it has," Mrunal added.

Mrunal was last seen in Telugu film Hi Nanna which starred Nani as the male lead. The actress' performance in the movie is being appreacited and recently Hi Nanna and it's Hindi version Hi Pappa also started streaming on OTT.

Talking about her upcoming films, she will be seen in the Telugu movie Family Star in which she is paired opposite Vijay Deverakonda. She also has a Hindi film titled Pooja Meri Jaan lined up.
