His contribution to the industry extended beyond acting, as he also established Annapurna Studios, which has played a vital role in the production of several notable Telugu films.
According to a News18 report, the Andhra Pradesh government allocated 22 acres of land in the upscale Banjara Hills locality to Akkineni Nageswara Rao in 1976 for the establishment of Annapurna Studios. Acquired at a nominal cost of Rs 7,500 to Rs 8,000 per acre, the land was intended to support the growth and promotion of the Telugu film industry in Hyderabad. Today, the value of this land has soared, with reports suggesting the current market price is approximately Rs 30 crore per acre, making the entire stretch worth an estimated Rs 600-650 crore.
As Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala tie the knot today, the importance of the venue, Akkineni Nageswara Rao's enduring legacy, and the presence of cinema's biggest names elevate this wedding to a landmark event in Telugu film history.
