Engagement Decor For Naga Chaitanya & Sobhita Dhulipala

The Telugu-born and raised actors have opted for a traditional and typical Hindu-style home event to seal the deal with the ring exchange ceremony amid their close circle of family, relatives and friends. The decor was set in dark green banana leaves, a typical Telugu staple for any good occasion, along with several flowers in White, Pink, Violet, and Yellow.

Against the backdrop of Banana leaves, strings of White Lillies aka Rajnigandha strung with Lotus buds and then generously hung Violet Amaranth garlands set the tone for the beautiful ceremony which includes a Gouri Puja by both families of the groom and bride.

Naga Chaitanya & Sobhita Opt For Typical South-Indian Attires

Paying an ode to their roots and keeping up with the traditions, the soon-to-be bride and groom stuck to their South-Indian style of occasion wear. Chaitanya, who is working on his upcoming film 'Thandel' left his hairstyle and beard untouched and wore an ivory-coloured Pancha and Kurtha with a half-white Veshti designed by Manish Malhotra, an ace designer who also extensively worked for the entire Ambani wedding.

The darling Sobhita complimented in a pastel Peach Uppada saree which has a Silver and Gold zari weaving. To make the outfit stand out, the designer added decorative borders with gold embroidery in Pink along the length of the saree and to the sleeves.

The plain Peach-coloured saree was paired with a self-designed blouse with checks added to the classy and elegant outfit. To match her accessories with the saree, Sobhita chose to decorate her hair with 'Kanakambaram' flowers.

Taking to the social media handle, Manish Malhotra shed some light on what took it to make the special handloom saree for Sobhita. He wrote, Congratulations and Lots of love to this Beautiful couple on their Engagement.💞The Nischitaardham (engagement) ceremony of Stunning Sobhita Dhulipala @sobhitad and Gorgeous Naga Chaitanya Akkineni @chayakkineni

Draped in a medley of textile specially sourced from the weaving communities of Andhra Pradesh, Sobhita was keen that this personal moment reflect her roots as well as pay homage to its rich traditions. She is wearing Uppada silk (from the region Uppada, Andhra Pradesh) in the golden blush colour of the Kanakaambaram, a traditional temple flower commonly worn in the hair by Telugu women as well as the eternal Padmam (lotus)
The silhouette, referenced from paintings of iconic Telugu artist 'Bapu' - is a derivation of the classic half-saree style worn by young women of South India.

Naga Chaitanya is wearing our interpretation of the classic Pattu pancha, laalchi and kanduva- a traditional 3 piece set worn by the men of Andhra Pradesh. The elegance of ivory brocade and muted gold tussar silk is complimented with accents of dori work in antique gold zari . Custom made ..Design and Styling, (sic)"

Sobhita Dhulipala's Engagement Jewellery

She chose to layer her traditional jewellery which is an antique finish made in stones of red and white against the orangish-yellow metal to compliment the outfit. Her make-up was too minimal with a blush tint on her lips and cheeks. Naga Chaitanya, on the other hand, wore a gold bracelet on his wrist. The sparkle on Sobhita's ring finger is standing out and is hard to miss. The engagement ring is a platinum-set solitaire with a cushion-cut diamond costing over Rs 15 Lakh, probably.
