Premalu,
a
coming-of-age
romantic
comedy
film
co-written
and
directed
by
Girish
A.D,
is
now
shaking
the
Mollywood
box
office
with
its
record-breaking
earnings.
The
movie
was
funded
by
Fahadh
Faasil,
Dileesh
Pothan,
and
Syam
Pushkaran
under
the
Bhavana
Studios
banner
and
was
made
on
a
decent
budget
of
Rs
3
Crore
and
has
so
far
earned
about
Rs
50
Crore
already.
Premalu
is
continuing
its
successful
theatrical
run
across
Kerala
and
other
states
after
its
theatrical
release
on
February
9.
But,
for
the
actress
Mamitha
Baiju,
Premalu
proved
to
be
a
game
changer.
The
actress
who
played
Reenu
Roy
in
Premalu
is
being
flooded
with
opportunities
from
Tollywood
as
well,
going
by
the
rumours.
The
actress,
who
also
shot
for
her
maiden
Tamil
film,
is
now
being
approached
by
many
filmmakers
from
the
Telugu
film
industry.
Before
the
actress
could
sign
and
make
her
Telugu
debut,
producers
from
Tollywood
are
planning
to
dub
and
release
Premalu
in
Telugu.
Mamita
Baiju
was
born
in
Kidangoor
of
Kottayam
district
and
is
currently
pursuing
an
undergraduation
in
Psychology
from
the
Sacred
Heart
College
in
Kochi,
other
than
taking
up
acting
and
modeling
assignments.
She
made
her
Malayalam
acting
debut
in
2017
with
the
movie
titled
'Sarvopari
Palakkaran,'
in
which
she
played
the
role
of
Raji.
She
then
went
on
to
play
several
other
notable
roles
in
over
15
films.
Premalu's
success
took
the
actress's
popularity
and
name
to
a
whole
new
level.
Mamita
Baiju's
upcoming
film
includes
a
Tamil
film,
her
debut
in
Kollywood,
titled
Rebel.
The
movie's
shooting
was
completed
and
is
in
the
post-production
phase.
She
has
yet
to
announce
her
upcoming
films
and
is
listening
to
several
scripts
from
Malayalam,
Tamil,
and
Telugu
directors.
Premalu
is
the
story
of
a
youngster
who
leaves
for
Hyderabad
for
GATE
coaching.
He
then
befriends
Reenu
and
falls
in
love
with
her.
Reenu,
a
software
employee's
colleague
Aadhi
enters
their
relationship.
The
movie
struck
a
chord
with
the
youngsters
and
film
buffs
who
loved
the
premise,
set-up,
story,
narration,
performances,
and
theme
which
were
decently
upholded
by
a
great
background
score,
music,
and
stunning
cinematography.
