Back in October 2021, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and her former husband Naga Chaitanya's divorce announcement had taken the nation by storm. Despite being at the receiving end of harsh comments, nasty trolling and countless rumours, the actress always remained tight-lipped about her separation. Meanwhile, during her recent interview, Samantha got candid about her divorce and broke silence about the scrutiny, societal judgements a woman goes through after divorce.

Talking to Galatta India, the 'Oo Antava' star stated, "Unfortunately, we live in a society which is so patriarchal in nature, that anytime something goes wrong, a woman gets subjected to... I'm not saying men don't, men do, but a woman gets subjected to a lot more judgment and a lot more shaming, not just online, even in real life."

Addressing the divorce, Samantha added, "When a woman goes through a divorce, there is a lot of shame and stigma attached to that. I get a lot of comments saying, 'second hand, used, wasted life'. You are pushed into a corner where you are supposed to feel like a failure. You are supposed to feel guilt and shame that you were once married, and now you are not. It can be really hard for families and girls who have gone through that."

On the other hand, Samantha's ex-husband Naga Chaitanya is set to start a new chapter in his life next month. Chay is all set to tie the knot with 'Made In Heaven' actress Sobhita Dhulipala on 4th December 2024. As per reports, the wedding ceremony will take place at the iconic Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad to honour Chay's late grandfather, Akkineni Nageshwara Rao (ANR).
