Stree 2 Choreographer And National Awardee Jani Master Faces Sexual Abuse Allegations By 21-Year-Old Colleague

Police File Zero FIR Against Choreographer Jani Master on Sexual Assault Allegations: In a recent development, the Raidurgam police in Hyderabad have filed a zero First Information Report (FIR) against the well-known choreographer Shaik Jani Basha, popularly known as Jani Master, on allegations of sexually assaulting a young woman. According to a report by The Hindu, the complainant, a 21-year-old choreographer who has been working closely with Jani Master for the past few months, has accused him of multiple instances of sexual assault during their outdoor shoots.

The woman's complaint, lodged with the Raidurgam police, details incidents of sexual assault allegedly committed by Jani Master during their professional engagements in various cities, including Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. She also claims that these assaults occurred at her residence in Narsingi, a suburb of Hyderabad. Given that the complainant resides in Narsingi, the case has been transferred to the Narsingi police for further investigation.

The FIR against Jani Master includes serious charges under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to rape, along with criminal intimidation (section 506) and voluntarily causing hurt (section 323). A senior police official confirmed the details, noting that the case will be thoroughly investigated by the Narsingi police.

In response to the allegations, Shikha Goel, the Director General of the Women Safety Wing (WSW) Telangana, has provided guidance to those in the film industry seeking advice on the matter. Shikha Goel advised the film fraternity to initiate an internal inquiry under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) Act, while also recommending that the case be formally registered with law enforcement for a comprehensive investigation.

Previous Harassment Allegation And Past Legal Issues

Earlier in June, another complaint was filed against Jani Master by Satish, a dancer, who alleged harassment and claimed that Jani Master had obstructed his opportunities in film shoots. Jani Master, however, denied these allegations during a press conference.

Additionally, it is noteworthy that Jani Master was previously sentenced to six months in jail by a local court in Medchal, Hyderabad, in 2019 for a brawl that occurred in 2015. Despite this, he remains active on social media, frequently sharing updates and photos with prominent figures such as Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan, and Rajkummar Rao. Jani Master is the choreographer for "Tu Aayi Nahin" from the latest blockbuster, Stree 2. He is also known for choreographing popular tracks such as "Rowdy Baby" (Maari 2), "Butta Bomma" (Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo), "Arabic Kuthu," and "Jolly O Gymkhana" (Beast).
