Vettaiyan Telugu Box Office Collection Day 1: Superstar Rajinikanth's latest action drama written and directed by T.J. Gnanavel, Vettaiyan, was released to a low-key buzz in Telugu states on October 10. The movie was a Dussehra festival weekend release and aimed at family audiences.

Rajinikanth is accompanied by talents like Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Rana in the movie which has music by Anirudh. Manju Warrier and Abhirami played prominent roles in the movie. Fans and critics are pleased with the film's plot and performances but there is a lack of excitement around it.

Vettaiyan Synopsis

Athiyan (Rajinikanth) is a strict cop who goes beyond the law to safeguard justice. He is known as an encounter specialist. He becomes interested in a school teacher Sharanya (Dushara Vijayan) who also cannot stand injustice and tries to expose a dangerous scam involving students. Sharanya gets brutally killed and the wrong person is encountered by Athiyan. How Athiyan finds out the truth and reason behind Sharanya's death is the crux of Vettaiyan.

Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan ad a low-key buzz in the two Telugu-speaking states. The movie didn't have a proper promotional event to take the film to the Telugu audiences. In addition, the makers of the film did not want to rename the movie in Telugu and released the Telugu version as Vettaiyan only, just like its Tamil version.

The movie opened to a lukewarm buzz and made only Rs 3.2 Crore on the opening day from its Telugu version.

The movie stars Rajinikanth as SP Ajith IPS, Amitabh Bachchan as Sathyadev (voice dubbed by Prakash Raj), Fahadh Faasil as Patrick, Rana Daggubati as Natraj, Manju Warrier as Thara, Ritika Singh as ASI Roopa, Dushara Vijayan as Saranya, Rohini as Nazeema, Rao Ramesh as DGP D. Shrinivas, Ramesh Thilak, Kishore as SP Harish Kumar, Rakshan, G.M. Sundar, Sabumon Abdusamad, Abhirami as Swetha, and Shaji Chen as Police Commissioner. Anirudh Ravichander appeared as himself in a cameo in the super hit song 'Manasilaayo.'

The movie is being produced by Subaskaran Allirajah under the Lyca Productions banner. S.R. Kathir is cranking the camera and Philomin Raj is going to work as the Editor. Anirudh Ravichander is going to compose the film's music and score.
