Highly Disappointing Tollywood Films Released In 2024: Tollywood enjoyed a stellar and outstanding year in 2024 with movies like Pushpa 2, HanuMan, and Devara hitting the screens. The range and scale of Telugu films increased manifold globally. However, there have also been massive disasters like Mahesh Babu's Guntur Kaaram and Venkatesh's Saindhav. Below is a small detail.

Guntur Kaaram

This highly anticipated family action entertainer was released for the Sankranti epic season amid sky-high expectations. With superstar Mahesh Babu collaborating with Trivikram Srinivas to amplify the hype, the presence of Sreeleela and Ramya Krishna, among others, only added to the hype. The entire songs of Guntur Kaaram are chartbusters to date, and the craze for the film was unbelievable. However, due to weak narration and a strong conflict point, the movie didn't deliver the punch at the box office.

Saindhav

Victory Venkatesh's Sankranti release was an out-and-out action drama written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu. Starring Shraddha Srinath as the female lead, the movie showcased Venkatesh in a rugged and full-on action mode, unlike his previous films. The movie tanked at the box office immediately after the premiere with negative talk from critics, fans, and audiences.

Eagle & Mr Bachchan

Massraja Ravi Teja, the Akshay Kumar of Tollywood, hit the screens with only two films in 2024. Both Eagle and Mr Bachchan movies directed by Karthik Ghattamneni and Harish Shankar respectively underperformed at the ticket counters.

The Family Star

Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur's family entertainer written and directed by Parasuram Petla was a disaster after it opened on the screens worldwide amid decent expectations. Vijay Deverakonda is burdened by a slew of flop lately.

Double iSmart

Ram Pothineni and filmmaker Puri Jagannadh joined hands once again for a sequel to the super successful iSmart Shankar titled Double iSmart. The movie carried hype but failed to repeat the magic like the previous one.

Operation Valentine & Matka

Mega hero Varun Tej's two outings are action dramas. Both of them failed miserably at the box office.

Bheema & Vishwam

It looks like Gopichand really needs some good script and a talented filmmaker to score a much needed success to be back on track. His endangered Tollywood career needs an immediate revival with both his 2024 releases ending up as flops.

Dubbing Films Released In Tollywood 2024

Laal Salaam

Superstar Rajinikanth's sports action drama written and directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth was released after several delays. The movie featuring Vishnu Vishal remained a flop.

Indian 2

The pre-release buzz and expectations for Kamal Haasan and Shankar's Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 film Indian, were through the roof. Starring Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Priya Bhavani Shankar, the movie along with its music failed to impress the fans and critics.

Kanguva

Suriya's hyped and career's biggest-costliest period action drama Kanguva, written and directed by Siruthai Siva opened worldwide to heavy expectations. The movie ended up as the actor's biggest disaster and meme material.

All three films of Vishwak Sen that hit the screens in 2024-Gaami, Mechanic Rocky, and Gangs of Godavari didn't score well at the box office except for Gaami, which achieved break-even.

Raj Tarun also delivered three back-to-back debacles this year with Bhale Unnade, Tiragabadara Saami, and Purushothamudu.

In addition, there are more flops, such as Yatra 2 starring Jiiva, Aa Okkati Adakku and Bachchala Malli featuring Allari Naresh, Prathinidhi 2, a sequel to Nara Rohit's film in which he reprised his character, Anand Deverakonda's Gam Gam Ganesha, Sree Vishnu's Om Bheem Bush and SWAG, and Darling starring Priyadarshi and Nabha Natesh.
