Akhanda 2 Box Office Collection Day 12: Nandamuri Balakrishna's Film Crosses ₹86 Crore In India

Akhanda 2 Box Office Collection: Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, the sequel to the 2021 Telugu action drama Akhanda, has completed 12 days in theaters and is now heading into Day 13 of its theatrical run today (December 24). The film, led by Nandamuri Balakrishna and directed by Boyapati Sreenu, has maintained a steady presence at the box office despite notable weekday drops. According to data from box office tracker Sacnilk, the film's India net earnings stand at an estimated ₹86.5 crore after 12 days across all languages.

The film, which released on December 12 in both 2D and 3D formats, continues the storyline from the first installment, expanding its world with a mix of fantasy and action elements. Balakrishna reprises his dual avatar as Akhanda Rudra Sikandar Aghora and Murali Krishna, stepping back into a conflict that now stretches into the domains of biological threats and spiritual conflicts. Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshaali Malhotra play key roles, with their characters tied closely to the central crisis that drives the narrative.

Akhanda 2 opened strongly, earning ₹8 crore from preview shows on Thursday, followed by a massive ₹22.5 crore on its first Friday. Saturday and Sunday continued the momentum with ₹15.5 crore and ₹15.1 crore, respectively. However, as the first week progressed, the film experienced sharp weekday drops, settling at ₹5.25 crore on Monday and ₹4.25 crore on Tuesday. By the end of Week 1, the film had accumulated ₹76.75 crore across languages, with the Telugu version contributing the bulk of the revenue.

The second weekend brought a modest recovery, with Saturday and Sunday showing upward movement, collecting ₹2.55 crore and ₹3.45 crore, respectively. The second Monday saw a significant decline, with earnings dropping to ₹1.05 crore, followed by an estimated ₹1 crore on Tuesday (Day 12).

Though the film has slowed from its initial pace, it remains on track to approach the ₹90 crore mark in the coming days, depending on holiday-season turnout. With Christmas week underway, the film could register some improvement if footfalls rise during the festive period.

Behind the camera, director Boyapati Sreenu also penned the script, continuing his collaboration with Balakrishna. The production is backed by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under the banners of 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment. The technical team includes music composer Thaman S, cinematographers C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D. Detakae, and editor Tammiraju. The film's visual and action-heavy approach is supported by extensive art and design work led by AS Prakash.
