Akhanda 2 Box Office Collection Day 3: Nandamuri Balakrishna's Film Crosses ₹60 Crore Mark In India

Akhanda 2 Box Office Collection: Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, the Telugu fantasy action thriller led by Nandamuri Balakrishna, has completed its first three days at the Indian box office with a cumulative collection of approximately ₹60.9 crore (India net), according to early estimates from box office tracking website Sacnilk. The film, which was released in theaters on December 12, 2025, is currently in its fourth day of theatrical run as of December 15.
Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is the sequel to the 2021 film Akhanda and continues to explore a narrative that blends spiritual elements with contemporary threats. The film was released in both 2D and 3D formats across multiple languages, though its primary market remains the Telugu-speaking states.
The box office run began with paid previews on Thursday, where the film earned an estimated ₹8 crore, entirely driven by the Telugu version. On its official opening day, Friday, the film recorded a sharp rise in collections, earning around ₹22.5 crore across all languages. This strong first day helped establish early momentum, particularly in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Saturday saw a noticeable drop compared to Friday, with Day 2 collections estimated at ₹15.5 crore. Despite the decline, the film maintained steady footfalls in core markets, pushing the total closer to the ₹50 crore mark. On Sunday, which marked Day 3 of release, Akhanda 2: Thaandavam added an estimated ₹14.9 crore, based on early and rough data. With this, the total India net collection after three days stood at approximately ₹60.9 crore.
While the Telugu version continues to dominate the overall figures, the film has also seen limited contributions from Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions. These markets remain supplementary, accounting for a relatively small portion of the total earnings.
Story, Cast And Technical Details
The story unfolds in the aftermath of the events depicted in the first film, introducing a new national crisis involving a bioweapon attack during a large religious gathering. The film features Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshaali Malhotra in prominent roles. Music is composed by Thaman S, with cinematography by C. Ramprasad and editing by Tammiraju. Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the film is presented by M. Tejaswini Nandamuri, with Zee Studios handling North India distribution.
As Akhanda 2: Thaandavam enters its first working Monday on Day 4, trade observers are expected to closely monitor weekday trends to gauge audience retention beyond the opening weekend.
