Paid premieres roll out on 11 December, and trade circles readied for packed houses across India, as fans of Nandamuri Balakrishna look to turn the long-delayed sequel into a large-scale celebration. The film reunites Balakrishna with director Boyapati Srinu, bringing back the popular Akhanda character from their 2021 hit.

This time, the story again enters a mystical action‑fantasy setting, where the protagonist channels divine rage. The sequel reportedly raises emotional stakes, expanding the existing universe with bigger confrontations and heightened drama for core fans. Akhanda 2 is produced by 14 Reels Plus and is positioned as a pan‑India release, targeting audiences beyond the Telugu belt. Samyuktha stars opposite Balakrishna in the lead, while Aadhi Pinishetty and child actor Harshaali Malhotra handle key supporting parts. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Akhanda 2 has made a collection of Rs 22cr (including Rs 21.5cr in Telugu, Rs 10 lakhs in Hindi, Rs 4 lakhs in Kannada, Rs 35 lakhs in Tamil and Rs 1 lakh in Malayalam) excluding the paid premieres of Rs 8cr. As a result the overall collection of the movie happens to be Rs 30cr.

Interestingly, with an opening day collection of Rs 22cr, Akhanda 2 has managed to beat Akhanda which has made a collection of Rs 21.20cr.

Given the fact that Akhanda 2 is in its first weekend, the movie is expected to have a steady hold at the box office and is likely to mint Rs 20cr today (day 2/ first Saturday). This will take the overall collection is expected to touch Rs 50cr in two days

Meanwhile, Samyukta, during a conversation with 123Telugu, got candid about her role in Akhanda 2 and stated, "It will be extremely stylish. My role becomes very significant in a key sequence. I was told that I should perform a song, which made me nervous. I haven't done such a mass song earlier. I decided to give my best, but my knees didn't cooperate. Later, I underwent physiotherapy. We must entertain the audience. That's the final goal of an artist".
