Akhanda 2: Kailash Kher Opens Up About The Thaandavam Song; Reveals Adding Heartfelt Words For Shiva

Nandamuri Balakrishna, a beloved figure, collaborates with director Boyapati Sreenu for the much-anticipated film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam. Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner, the film is presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri. The music, composed by S Thaman, includes the first track titled The Thaandavam, performed by Kailash Kher and Shankar Mahadevan.

During a recent event for the song's launch, Kailash Kher shared insights into its creation. He mentioned adding words dedicated to Shiva spontaneously at the last minute. "In my career of nearly 20 years, I've had multiple opportunities to sing all kinds of songs. But, I've started with my best from the South. We've sung the Tandav Stotram from the time of Baahubali. And I always say that film songs are always good, and it's been going on for 100s of years. But, even before film songs came into the picture, we've always had spiritual tracks," he said.

The Essence of Lord Shiva in South Films

Kailash Kher also spoke about how South films often incorporate elements related to Lord Shiva. He noted that these films are achieving remarkable success while carrying this essence. When he learned that Thaman S was composing music for Akhanda 2, he anticipated something exceptionally powerful.

Exploring further into the making of The Thaandavam song, Kailash Kher explained that it contains heavy Sanskrit elements. After recording it, Thaman suggested incorporating specific phrases by Kailash Kher himself. "As soon as he sent this message, I immediately wrote - Aadi Dev Mahadev, Shambhu Bhajo Shambhu Bhajo, Hey Shankara," he stated.

Star Cast and Technical Excellence

Akhanda 2 features Samyuktha as the leading lady alongside Aadhi Pinisetty in a significant role and Harshali Malhotra portraying an emotionally complex character. The film showcases exceptional technical work with C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D. Detakae handling visuals and Tammiraju responsible for editing. A grand production design is led by A.S. Prakash.

Directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced on a large scale by Raam Achanta and Gopichand Achanta under their banner 14 Reels Plus, Akhanda 2 promises to be an action-packed spectacle filled with devotion.

The movie is set to hit theatres on December 5th.
