Akhanda 2 OTT Deal: Digital Streaming Rights Reportedly Finalized For Nandamuri Balakrishna Film

Akhanda 2 OTT Deal: The upcoming Telugu fantasy action drama Akhanda 2: Thaandavam is making headlines as its digital release plans take shape ahead of the film's theatrical premiere. Directed by Boyapati Sreenu, the film serves as a sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Akhanda and features Nandamuri Balakrishna, Samyuktha Menon, and Aadhi Pinisetty in key roles. The film is produced by Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Ishan Saksena under 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, with M. Tejaswini Nandamuri presenting.

The makers have scheduled the worldwide theatrical release for 5 December 2025. Leading up to the premiere, the second single from the film, titled Jajikaya Jajikaya, is set for release on 18 November 2025 at 6.46 PM. The launch event will take place at Jagadamba Theatre in Visakhapatnam from 5 PM onwards. The first single, The Thaandavam, was released earlier on 14 November 2025, while the film teaser had been unveiled on 9 June 2025, coinciding with Balakrishna's birthday.

Technically, the film features music and a background score by Thaman S, cinematography by C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D. Detakae, editing by Tammiraju, and art direction by AS Prakash. The production team also includes Vamsi-Shekar handling publicity and First Show overseeing marketing operations.

Digital Streaming Rights Report

According to a report by OTT Play, Netflix has acquired the digital streaming rights for Akhanda 2. While the exact deal remains undisclosed, OTT Play reports indicate that the negotiations concluded at a value below the initial demands of the producers, who were seeking close to ₹100 crore for the rights. However, an official confirmation from the makers or Netflix is yet to be issued.

Akhanda 2 continues the story of its predecessor, promising high-octane action sequences and a fantasy-driven narrative. The first Akhanda, released in December 2021, starred Balakrishna in a dual role alongside Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu, and Srikanth and became a commercial success with global box office collections exceeding ₹150 crore. The original film also earned recognition at the 53rd International Film Festival of India and won the Telangana State Gaddar Award for Second Best Feature Film.

With its theatrical release scheduled for 5 December 2025, the film is generating attention through its teaser and singles. Fans are looking forward to the trailer and promotional events leading up to the release, which are expected to set the stage for the film's box office debut.
