Akhanda 2 Overseas Rights: Nandamuri Balakrishna Movie Secures Substantial Global Release Deal

Akhanda 2 Overseas Rights: The upcoming Telugu film Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has reportedly secured its overseas distribution rights for 15 crores. The fantasy action drama, directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Ram Achanta and Gopi Achanta under 14 Reels Plus and IVY Entertainment, is scheduled for a worldwide release on December 5, 2025. Overseas distribution will reportedly be handled by Moksha Movies, Cine Galaxy, and Sree Vaishnavi Entertainment.
Akhanda 2 serves as the sequel to the 2021 film Akhanda, which featured Balakrishna in a dual role alongside Pragya Jaiswal, Jagapathi Babu, and Srikanth. The original film, while receiving mixed critical reviews, was a commercial success, reportedly grossing over ₹150 crores globally and ranking as the highest-grossing film of Balakrishna's career at the time. Akhanda was also featured at the 53rd International Film Festival of India and won the Telangana State Gaddar Award for Second Best Feature Film.
Akhanda 2 Cast And Crew
In the sequel, Balakrishna reprises dual roles as Akhanda and Murali Krishna. The cast also includes Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshaali Malhotra in supporting roles. The technical team for Akhanda 2 features Thaman S as the music composer, C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae handling cinematography, AS Prakash on art direction, and Tammiraju as the editor. Marketing and publicity are managed by First Show and PRO duties by Vamsi-Shekar.
The film's teaser was released on June 9, 2025, coinciding with Nandamuri Balakrishna's birthday, giving audiences a first look at the sequel's action and visual style. With its international distribution rights secured, the film is expected to reach Telugu-speaking audiences across multiple countries, following the domestic release.
Akhanda 2 continues the story of its predecessor while expanding its scale. Fans of Balakrishna and action-driven fantasy narratives are likely to access the film across regions, reflecting the growing reach of Telugu cinema beyond India.
The film's release marks another collaboration between Balakrishna and director Boyapati Sreenu, who co-wrote and helmed the original Akhanda.
