Akhanda 2 Release Status: The highly anticipated Telugu fantasy action drama Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna, will not release as originally scheduled on December 5, 2025. The production house, 14 Reels Plus, confirmed the postponement in a statement posted on social media late on December 4, citing "unavoidable circumstances" as the reason behind the delay.

In their message, the makers acknowledged the disappointment faced by fans and moviegoers, emphasizing that they are working to resolve the situation at the earliest. "With a heavy heart, we regret to inform you that #Akhanda2 will not be releasing as scheduled due to unavoidable circumstances," the post read. The team also thanked audiences for their support and promised to provide a positive update soon.

The sudden postponement comes just a day before the film's worldwide release. Earlier in the evening of December 4, the India premieres scheduled for that day were cancelled due to technical issues, according to the producers. The overseas premieres, which were initially expected to go ahead, were also called off, adding to the uncertainty surrounding the launch of the sequel to the 2021 hit Akhanda.

Directed by Boyapati Sreenu and produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under 14 Reels Plus, the sequel continues the story from the original film. The cast includes Samyuktha Menon, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Kabir Duhan Singh in key roles, while the technical team features music by Thaman S, cinematography by C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae, art direction by AS Prakash, and editing by Tammiraju.

Akhanda 2 was reportedly postponed after Madras High Court stayed its release over pending dues of nearly Rs 28 crore to Eros International Media Limited. Reports indicate that the case stems from a previous arbitration ruling in favor of Eros, though 14 Reels Plus has not officially confirmed these details.
