Alappuzha Gymkhana Telugu OTT Release: Alappuzha Gymkhana, the Malayalam sports drama directed by Khalid Rahman, is gearing up for its digital release in Telugu. The dubbed version is expected to premiere soon on Aha Video. While the platform hasn't officially announced a release date, the update has generated notable interest among Telugu-speaking audiences, particularly those who didn't catch the film during its theatrical run.
The Telugu version of Alappuzha Gymkhana hit theaters on April 25, two weeks after the original Malayalam release on April 10. The film, centered around a group of friends from Alappuzha who turn to boxing in hopes of gaining college admission through the sports quota, explores themes of aspiration, struggle, and transformation within a small-town setting. It features a large ensemble cast including Naslen, Lukman Avaran, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Sandeep Pradeep, Anagha Ravi, and Franco Francis.
Malayalam Original Streaming on SonyLIV; Telugu Version to Arrive Soon on Aha Video
Currently, the Malayalam version is available for streaming on SonyLIV. The Telugu release on Aha Video is expected to expand the film's reach to a broader audience beyond Kerala.
Khalid Rahman directed and produced the film, with the screenplay co-written by Sreeni Saseendran and dialogues penned by Ratheesh Ravi. The music is composed by Vishnu Vijay, while the cinematography is handled by Jimshi Khalid. The film also involved a strong technical team, including editor Nishadh Yusuf and co-editor Bles Thomas, with art direction by Ashik S and costumes designed by Mashar Hamsa.
The film's narrative follows five friends from Alappuzha who, after failing their 12th-grade exams, take up boxing to secure a future through sports quota college admissions. As they train under a stern coach and face various personal and external challenges, their journey through local and state-level tournaments becomes a test of their endurance and commitment.
