Arya 2 Re-release Box Office Records: Arya 2, the cult film starring Allu Arjun in his first sequel with Sukumar, was re-released on the eve of his 43rd birthday in select cities across the country along with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on April 5. The romantic musical action drama starring Kajal Aggarwal and Navdeep with Devi Sri Prasad's popular music created a sensation at the box office during after the re-release. Within two days, the movie made Rs 5.20 Crore in gross, standing testimony to the supremacy of Allu Arjun and his fans. Arya 2 is also one of the very few films to make over Rs 5 Crore from its second release.

Arya 2 Re-release On Allu Arjun's Birthday Eve

Arya 2 was re-released in a remastered 4K version for the actor's fans in response to high demand. In general, the movie's fans and Tollywood buffs are excited about the Arya 2 movie's re-release. The advance bookings were super solid, which led to this mass response for the re-release. When the movie was theatrically released back in 2009, it was not a commercially profitable one for the filmmakers but went on to attain a cult status and following.

The movie's theme around the love-hate relationship between friends and lovers was depicted entertainingly with Allu Arjun's typical characterization and performance; and Sukumar's trademark filmmaking. The movie was not a good commercial hit at the box office but earned a cult status later.

Arya 2 Synopsis

Arya and Ajay are best friends from childhood as they grow up as orphans. Ajay establishes a successful firm and he employs Geetha, with whom he falls in love. Arya, who has done several sacrifices for Ajay since childhood re-enters his life and joins Ajay's company. He also falls for Geetha. With the friends developing deep feelings for Geetha, Arya decides to get Ajay and Geetha married. When Geetha's faction family tries to get Geetha married to settle scores with their enemies, Arya then disrupts Geetha's wedding. However, his plan to unite Geetha and Ajay overturn as he ends up marrying Geetha with her family's approval and Geetha's dismay. What Happens Next? is all about Arya 2.

Allu Arjun played Arya and Navdeep portrayed the role of Arya's best friend Ajay. Kajal Aggarwal is the mutual love interest Geetha with Shraddha Das as Shanthi. The movie also stars Ajay, Brahmanandam, Mukesh Rishi, Sayaji Shinde, Radha Kumari, Venu Madhav, Srinivasa Reddy, Krishnudu, and Devi Charan among others.

Written and directed by Sukumar, the movie's screenplay was rendered by T Prakash and Chandrasekhar T. Ramesh. Vema Reddy wrote the dialogues and B Rajasekar worked as the cinematographer. Marthan K. Venkatesh was the film's editor. Aditya Babu and BVSN Prasad bankrolled the movie under the Aditya Arts banners.
