Baahubali The Epic Box Office Day 1 Expectation: Can Re-Release Of Prabhas-Rajamouli Film Break Records Again?

Baahubali The Epic Box Office Expectation: As Baahubali: The Beginning completes ten years since its original release, director S.S. Rajamouli and the makers have announced a re-release of the film, this time as Baahubali The Epic, a two-part combined version of both The Beginning (2015) and The Conclusion (2017). The special edition is slated to hit theaters worldwide on October 31, 2025, and is already generating considerable excitement among filmgoers.
Industry watchers are closely tracking the box office prospects of this ambitious re-release, with early estimates pointing towards a historic opening day collection. According to a post by industry tracker Milagro Movies on X (formerly Twitter), Baahubali The Epic is expected to cross ₹50 crore on Day 1, potentially making it the highest-earning re-release in Indian cinema history.
The anticipation is not without reason. Apart from the nostalgia factor and the cultural impact the original films had on audiences, this special edition is expected to include a few deleted scenes, as reported by Milagro Movies on X. This has further fueled interest among fans, many of whom are eager to experience the saga in a new light.
A Decade Later, Baahubali Returns to Theaters as a Combined Cut
Originally released on 10 July 2015, Prabhas-starrer Baahubali: The Beginning was a game-changer for Indian cinema. Made on a budget of ₹180 crore, the film was one of the most expensive Indian productions at the time and went on to become a massive commercial success. It introduced audiences to the story of Sivudu, Avantika, Devasena, and the kingdom of Mahishmati, while leaving viewers with one of the most talked-about cliffhangers in Indian film history.
The combined gross of the two original films exceeded ₹1,800 crore globally, with The Beginning alone accounting for more than ₹600 crore. Its Hindi-dubbed version also made headlines by becoming the most successful Hindi-dubbed film at the time.
Director Rajamouli marked the ten-year anniversary of the first film with a heartfelt social media post on July 10, 2025, writing:
"Baahubali... The beginning of many journeys. Countless memories. Endless inspiration. It's been 10 years. Marking this special milestone with #BaahubaliTheEpic, a two-part combined film. In theaters worldwide on October 31, 2025."
With only a few months to go before the theatrical re-release, expectations are mounting. Whether it meets or exceeds those expectations remains to be seen, but the buzz indicates that Baahubali continues to hold a powerful place in the hearts of moviegoers ten years later.
