Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9: As Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 is reportedly gearing up for its premiere in the first week of September 2025, all eyes are once again on host Nagarjuna Akkineni, who returns to anchor the reality series for the seventh consecutive time. The actor, who last appeared in a lead role in Naa Saami Ranga, has shifted focus to projects beyond solo hero roles, but that hasn't slowed down his earnings.

According to a report by Asianet News Telugu, Nagarjuna is set to earn as much as ₹30 crore for hosting Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9. Combined with his roles in recent films like Kubera and Coolie, the actor is reportedly on track to make nearly ₹80 crore in 2025 alone. Notably, this figure comes despite him not featuring as the main lead in any film this year.

In Kubera, which was directed by Sekhar Kammula and released on 20 June 2025, Nagarjuna played a former CBI officer opposite Dhanush. As per the same report, the film earned him a fee between ₹15 and ₹20 crore. He will next be seen in Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, where he takes on a negative role. His remuneration for Coolie is believed to be in the range of ₹25 to ₹30 crore.

Meanwhile, Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 is expected to return with several format changes. According to a Deccan Chronicle report published on July 5, this season will see the introduction of commoner participants competing alongside celebrities, marking a first for the Telugu version of the franchise.

What to Expect from Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9

The casting strategy also seems to be evolving, with reports suggesting that several internet influencers and controversial public figures are being approached to join the show. Organizers reportedly received lakhs of applications after opening entries for the general public earlier this year.

According to reports, there was a brief period during which actor Nandamuri Balakrishna was considered to host the new season. However, that idea was ultimately shelved in favor of continuing with Nagarjuna, likely due to his consistent association with the show since Season 3.

Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 will be telecast on Star Maa and streamed on JioHotstar, with expectations running high as the show returns with a new format that includes public participation.
