Chhaava Telugu Release Lands In Trouble: Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's blockbuster historical action drama Chhaava, is gearing up for a Telugu release by Geetha Arts banners. Chhaava Telugu now landed in trouble just a day before its release as the Muslim Federation of Andhra Pradesh heads complained to Nellore Collector. The movie's release on March 7, therefore, became controversial just like its Bollywood release on February 14.

Chhaava unleashed a phenomenon in Bollywood, especially in every nook and corner of Maharashtra at the box office at the most crucial time. It was at first supposed to release on December 5 along with Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 The Rule but the makers postponed the release to avoid clash. The theatres were chanting and cheering for the filmy depiction of Sambhaji Maharaj and his documented contributions to the Maratha empire. So far, Chhaava is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2024, and the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time.

Why Chhaava Telugu Is In Trouble?

The president of the Muslim Federation of Andhra Pradesh, Mohammed Zia-ul-Haq approached the Collector of Nellore city and raised objections in the form of a petition. In his complaint on behalf of the federation, they opined that the movie Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar, misrepresented the historical facts, leading to distortion and instigation of opposition.

There is an ambiguity for now around the release of Vicky Kaushal's film in the two Telugu states. If the Court decides to stall the release, things might heighten the tension. The clarity on the film's release is awaited for now.
