Constable Kanakam OTT Release: Constable Kanakam, a Telugu cop drama led by Varsha Bollamma, is set to premiere on ETV Win on August 14, 2025.

Directed by Prasanth Kumar Dimmala, the series centers on a small-town police constable named Kanakam who finds herself in the middle of a complex criminal case. With limited resources and mounting pressure, Kanakam takes it upon herself to unravel the mystery, relying on her instincts and investigative skills.

The series was reportedly originally envisioned as a film but has since been restructured into a web series format, marking one of ETV Win's original releases for the Independence Day week.

Controversy Around Plagiarism Allegations

In the lead-up to its release, Constable Kanakam made headlines for a different reason. The makers publicly alleged that Zee5's recently released web series Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting, which dropped on June 27, plagiarized their original script. Director Prasanth Kumar Dimmala claimed that he had earlier pitched the Constable Kanakam script to Zee5, accusing the platform of using the material without permission. Zee5, for its part, issued a statement denying all allegations of plagiarism.

Constable Kanakam: Cast and Crew

Alongside Varsha Bollamma in the lead, the series features a notable ensemble cast including Megha Lekha, Rajeev Kanakala, Srinivas Avasarala, Ramana Bhargav, Kancharapalem Kishore, Jwala Koti, Rakendu Mouli, Prem Sagar, and Suchitraa Anandan.

Behind the scenes, the series is backed by producers Kovelamudi Satya Saibaba and Vemuri Hemanth Kumar, with Sriram Mukkapati handling cinematography and Suresh Bobbili composing the music. Editing is done by Madhav Kumar Gullapalli, and Vishnu Vardhan Pulla has served as the production designer.

Constable Kanakam will be available exclusively on the ETV Win streaming platform starting August 14. With its crime-centric narrative and character-driven plot, the series aims to appeal to audiences looking for regional thrillers with a strong female lead.
