Coolie Theatrical Rights: Rajinikanth-Lokesh Kanagaraj's Actioner Asks Over Rs 40 Crore For Two Telugu States

Coolie Telugu Theatrical Rights Seek A BOMB: Referred to as Thalapathy 171, the most exciting and hyped actioner starring superstar Rajinikanth is titled 'Coolie.' Written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie featuring many renowned actors, is currently in the production stage. Anirudh Ravichander once again joined hands with Lokesh Kanagaraj and superstar Rajinikanth for this crazy action-thriller. The shooting is happening at a high speed with post-production works in tandem.

Coolie unit is filming for key portions across Chennai, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, and Bangkok. The makers will soon reveal the release date of the film, which will most likely be in the second half of 2025. Loki and superstar have first met in 2019 and they are supposed to collaborate then. However, only after Kamal Haasan-starrer 'Vikram,' things have materialized. Although the exact budget of the movie is unknown, sources predict Coolie's production cost as something over Rs 350 Crore, given the scale the director requires with a cast as such.

As the stakes are super high for this multi-starrer film headed by Loki and superstar Rajinikanth, the asking price for the theatrical rights for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is over Rs 40 Crore, according to the insider buzz. The price is only running on the higher side and will set a benchmark for dubbing movies in Telugu. However, the theatrical rights are still not sold. More information on the same is awaited.

The action entertainer boasts remarkable actors from all over the country including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, Reba Monica John, and Junior MGR in pivotal roles. In addition, cameos of Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde (song) will add star value to the already anticipated film.

Funded by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner, the Coolie movie has its cinematography and editing handled by Girish Gangadharan and Philomin Raj, who are essential part of Lokesh Kanagaraj's crew.
