Mohanlal s Empuraan To Undergo 17 EDITS Following Protests

Empuraan To Undergo Modifications Post Protests From Religious Groups: Mohanlal's Empuraan, a sequel to Lucifer written by Murali Gopy and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran is the fastest Rs 100 Crore grosser in Malayalam cinema and the hyped political action-thriller managed to achieve the feat in just two days with sensational bookings and release day openings. The movie also called L2: Empuraan is embroiled in numerous controversies and is meeting so much hate online by a group of religious organizations and sanghis.

The movie highly bashed religious politics and mentioned many on-the-face points throughout its narration. The internet is divided into people who are supporting Empuraan and those who are against. Many audiences raised their voice about Empuraan in the form of tweets, posts, memes, analyses, and cartoons.

Empuraan is said to have mocked the 'leftist' ideology and bashed the 'rightist' rule. The movie has a handful of references and openly speaks about central government agencies misusing the PMLA Act against the opposition, the communal riots in Gujarat that happened in 2002 and the communal politics of the country.

A user named Siva Mohan, sharing a meme wrote, "#Chaava was widely accepted because it showed 'Hindu struggling against Muslim'.

But #Empuraan, which touches on the Gujarat Riots and a 'Muslim struggle against Hindu anti-nationals', isn't acceptable to the same crowd.

Bajrang himself admitted to enjoying the killing of children and women-yet he's their hero. How are they any different from Jihadis?

#Prithviraj, (sic)."

Another user of X (Twitter) named Jills Daniel opined, "Indian Sanghis - '#empuraan is propaganda'

'So what about these? Kerala Story, Kashmir Files, Chaava and all?'

'These are facts and really happened', (sic)." check out some of the tweets below.

Filmmakers Decide On EDITING Empuraan Voluntarily

As per the latest updates and a report on Mathrubhumi, the filmmakers of Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas-starrer are considering to voluntarily chop away a few scenes to reduce the impact and answer the protests. Sources indicate that about 17 changes will be made to the riot sequences, violence against women, and change of the antagonist's name. A few dialogues will go mute. These are going to be voluntary modifications rather than re-censorship.

RSS Objects To Empuraan's Alleged Anti-Hindu Stance

Following the release of Empuraan, which was celebrated widely, the religious organization RSS accused Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran for openly criticizing the religious group and called it an 'anti-India agenda movie.' They also sought edits.
