Empuraan Telugu OTT Release Date Official: Mohanlal's Empuraan, a sequel to Lucifer written by Murali Gopy and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran opened to record-breaking numbers from its advance bookings and dethroned the silent phenomenon titled 'Manjummel Boys' as the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all-time within five days. Also called L2: Empuraan, the movie garnered worldwide attention following its theatrical release on March 27. Made on a budget of Rs 180 Crore, the political action-thriller earned Rs 250 Crore worldwide by the end of its active theatrical run.

Following the severe backlash from religious organizations, the filmmakers of Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas-starrer have voluntarily chopped away a few scenes to reduce the impact and answer the protests. About 17 changes have been made to the scenes that depicted riot sequences, violence against women, including the change of the antagonist's name. A few dialogues were muted.

Empuraan Telugu Official OTT Release Date Announced

The digital streaming platform and the makers of this highly prestigious project announced the OTT release date of Empuraan's Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada versions. With an official poster featuring the OTT release date, Mohanlal surprised the fans who went crazy for the film after its theatrical release. However, the movie's Hindi version date has not been revealed and it might take another week for it to make the streaming debut.

The movie stars a plethora of notable and talented actors along with Mohanlal including Prithviraj Sukumaran himself as Zayed Masood, Tovino Thomas as Jathin Ramdas, Manju Warrier as Priyadarshini Ramdas, Abhimanyu Singh as Balraj, Indrajith Sukumaran as Govardhan, Jerome Flynn as Boris Oliver, Eriq Ebouaney as Kabuga, Kishore as Karthik, Andrea Tivadar as Michele Menuhin, Suraj Venjaramoodu as Sajanachandran, Saikumar as Mahesha Varma, Baiju Santhosh as Murugan, Fazil as Father Nedumpally, Sachin Khedekar as PK Ramdas, Saniya Iyappan as Jhanvi, Nyla Usha, Giju John, Nandhu, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Manikuttan, Aneesh G. Menon, Sshivada, Alexx O'Nell, Satyajit Sharma, Shubhangi Latkar, Nikhat Khan and Jaise Jose among others in key roles.

Empuraan Crew
The action-thriller's cinematography was handled by Sujith Vaassudev and edited by Akhilesh Mohan. Deepak Dev composed the film's entire music and sound. Murali Gopy wrote the movie's story and script.

Controversies and discussions apart, Mohanlal set an industry record with Empuraan and the movie opened to Rs 50 Crore in advance bookings on its first day. On its third day at the box office, the movie made over Rs 4 Crore by evening.
