Hari Hara Veera Mallu X Review First Impressions

Hari Hara Veera Mallu X Review: Telugu film Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 - Sword vs Spirit released in theaters worldwide on July 24. Early reactions from audiences have begun surfacing on X (formerly Twitter), offering a first look at how the period action drama is being received.

Starring Pawan Kalyan in the titular role, the film unfolds in the 17th-century Mughal Empire. It portrays the journey of Veera Mallu, a fictional outlaw who is tasked with retrieving the famed Koh-i-Noor diamond in a bid to free a city from Mughal control. The film blends historical references with fictional storytelling and positions its protagonist as an early voice of resistance against imperial oppression.

Production and Crew Overview of the Period Drama

The project has had a long production timeline. First announced in January 2020, principal photography began in September that year, primarily in Hyderabad. Several interruptions, including the COVID-19 pandemic and scheduling adjustments related to Kalyan's political responsibilities, affected the film's timeline. Filming was completed in May 2025.

Direction duties were split between Krish Jagarlamudi, who helmed the initial portions, and A. M. Jyothi Krishna, who completed the film under Krish Jagarlamudi's supervision. The screenplay is co-written by Krish and Sai Madhav Burra, with dialogues contributed by Bhupathi Raja, Chinthakindi Srinivasarao, and Bhavani Prasad.

The ensemble cast features Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and Sathyaraj in key roles. Visuals for the film were captured by cinematographers Manoj Paramahamsa and Gnana Shekar V.S. The music was scored by M. M. Keeravani, with editing overseen by KL Praveen.

Technical inputs came from a large team: production design was overseen by Thota Tharrani, and action choreography was executed by a group of stunt coordinators including Nick Powell, Ram-Laxman, and Peter Hein. Visual effects work was managed by Srivenkatesan and Pavan Kumar Endarapu. Costumes were designed by Aishwaraya Rajeev and Neeta Lulla.

As screenings continue across India and abroad, viewers have started sharing their initial impressions online. While these posts are mostly short and reactionary, more detailed public feedback and critical reviews are expected to emerge throughout the release weekend.
