HIT 3 Vs. Retro Advance Bookings: Nani and Suriya's hyped action entertainers were released amid solid pre-release buzz and sensational pre-sales on May 1 in several languages worldwide. HIT 3 is a sequel written and directed by Sailesh Kolanu as part of his 'HITverse' and Karthik Subbaraj collaborated with Suriya for the first time. For Suriya, 'Retro' which has Pooja Hegde as the female lead is a crucial outing as it came after Siruthai Siva's directorial disaster 'Kanguva.'

Nani's HIT 3 made Rs 17 Crore in pre-bookings worldwide, while Suriya and Karthik Subbaraj's film only settled for Rs 14 Crore. Both movies are going to enjoy a rock solid opening weekend as the occupancy ratio for Retro and HIT 3 evening shows is high. According to the Sacnilk website, the movie Retro has registered about Rs 15.83 Crore approximately (by 7.30 PM) and Nani's HIT 3 is expected to make Rs 14.1 Crore.

Retro Premise

The movie is about a strong-headed protagonist, a former gangster, who tries to leave the past behind and live a peaceful life with his wife. However, his past comes haunting.

Shinde, Ravi Mariya as Jairam, and Maganti Srinath as Abhilash among others in key roles.

The movie has its entire music and background score composed by Mickey J. Meyer. Karthika Srinivas handled the editing and Sanu John Varghese cranked the camera. Prashanti Tipirneni and Nani bankrolled the project under the Wall Poster Cinema banner.
