Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari Re-release: Megastar Chiranjeevi's one of the career-defining films starring the late Sridevi, is now gearing up for a highly-awaited re-release after 35 years. The movie, directed by K Raghavendra Rao, is a socio-fantasy produced by 'Kalki 2898 AD' producer, Vyjayanthi Movies. Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari was released on May 9 in 1990 and the re-release is going to be a special one for the mega fans.

The movie was a sensation when it was released theatrically during a severe cyclone in the state of Andhra in 1990. The movie defied the odds of a natural calamity and became the biggest grosser hitherto. Chiranjeevi and Sridevi had doubled their remunerations instantly, owing to the film's overnight success and the actors sealed their position as ruling stars of Tollywood.

The re-release of Chiranjeevi's Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari is the most special one for the entire family of megastar Chiranjeevi, along with his fans. The 'Vishwambhara' actor is expected to take part in the film's promotions or an event that will be organized in the first week of May, ahead of its re-release. The remastered 4K version is likely to enthral the audiences and the Vyjayanthi Movies is also planning to bring the movie experience to the new generation movie buffs in the 3D format, reportedly. There is no official confirmation about the 3D version's release, however.

Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari Story

The movie is an emotional love story between a celestial maiden and a human. When Indraja (Sridevi) loses her ring during her trip to the Manasarovar on earth, she has no choice but to take it back from Raju (Chiranjeevi), who holds on to it. She falls in love with Raju, despite knowing that she will have to let go of her identity. On the other hand, an evil force Mahadrashta (Amrish Puri), tries to sacrifice Indraja to attain superpowers.

The movie featured Kannada Prabhakar, Allu Ramalingaiah, Ramireddy Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Janakaraj, late PJ Sharma, late RS Shivaji, and Prasad Babu among others in key roles.

Jandhyala co-wrote the script with director K Raghavendra Rao helming the movie under the production of Aswini Dutt's Vyjayanthi Movies. Popular writer Yandamoori Veerendranath wrote the story, and the late Veturi Sundararama Murthy penned the lyrics.
