Kannappa Box Office Collection Day 3: Vishnu Manchu's Movie Holds Steady Over Opening Weekend

Kannappa Box Office Collection: Kannappa, the Telugu mythological film headlined by Vishnu Manchu, completed its first weekend in theatres with an estimated India net collection of ₹23.75 crore across all languages. The film, which opened on June 27, 2025, has seen a fluctuating trend at the box office over its first three days, with early estimates suggesting a marginal increase in collections on Sunday.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and produced by Mohan Babu under the banners of Twenty Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment, Kannappa brings to screen the story of Thinna, a hunter who undergoes a spiritual transformation to become a devotee of Lord Shiva. Vishnu Manchu not only stars in the titular role but also penned the screenplay.
According to data from Sacnilk, the film earned approximately ₹7.25 crore on Day 3 (Sunday), a slight improvement from Saturday's ₹7.15 crore. The opening day, however, remained the highest grosser so far, collecting ₹9.35 crore across multiple language versions, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
Kannappa Box Office Performance Over 3 Days (India Net)
Day 1 (Friday): ₹9.35 crore
Day 2 (Saturday): ₹7.15 crore
Day 3 (Sunday): ₹7.25 crore (early estimate)
Total: ₹23.75 crore
The film had a wide multilingual release and features a notable ensemble cast including Mohanlal as Kirata, Prabhas as Rudra, Akshay Kumar as Lord Shiva, and Kajal Aggarwal as Goddess Parvati. Other supporting cast members include Preity Mukhundhan, Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Madhoo, and Brahmanandam, among others.
Shot extensively in New Zealand, Kannappa marks a significant production effort, with Sheldon Chau handling cinematography and music composed by Stephen Devassy. The film's songs and background score were released under the T-Series music label.
While Kannappa received a mixed response from critics, it has generated attention for its ambitious take on the folklore of Kannappa, a character rooted in South Indian devotional traditions. The narrative revolves around Thinna's transformation and his extreme act of devotion-offering his own eyes to Lord Shiva-an iconic tale in Hindu mythology.
With the weekdays ahead, it remains to be seen how Kannappa sustains its momentum at the box office. The film's performance over the next few days will likely determine its long-term run in theatres.
