Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa is a large-scale production based on the revered South Indian legend of Kannappa, a tribal hunter who becomes an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva. The film has been produced by actor and filmmaker Mohan Babu under the banners of Twenty Four Frames Factory and AVA Entertainment.
The film's plot revolves around Kannappa's transformation from an atheist hunter to a devotee willing to sacrifice his own eyes in an act of faith. Vishnu Manchu plays the lead role, while Mohan Babu, R. Sarathkumar, Brahmanandam, Brahmaji, and Preity Mukhundhan appear in key supporting roles. The film also features cameo appearances from prominent Indian actors such as Mohanlal, Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, and Kajal Aggarwal.
