Khaleja 4K Re-release: The 2010 Telugu action drama Khaleja, starring Mahesh Babu and directed by Trivikram Srinivas, is set to return to theatres in a 4K-restored version on May 30, 2025. Fourteen years after its original release, the film is making a comeback, buoyed by its cult following and renewed appreciation among fans and cinephiles.

Advance booking for the re-release opened on May 23, and early reports suggest a strong response. According to the production team, Khaleja has reportedly surpassed ₹3 crore in advance ticket sales across India, making it one of the fastest-selling re-releases in recent years.

Originally released on October 7, 2010, the film marked Mahesh Babu's return to the screen after a three-year hiatus and was his second collaboration with Trivikram following Athadu (2005). While Khaleja received mixed reviews at the time and underperformed at the box office, it has since undergone critical re-evaluation. The film is now regarded for its layered storytelling, philosophical themes, and distinct narrative tone. In 2019, it was included in Film Companion's list of the "25 Greatest Telugu Films of the Decade."

Set against the backdrop of a remote village in Rajasthan, the film follows Raju, a taxi driver from Hyderabad, who becomes entangled in a series of events that lead villagers to believe he is a prophesied saviour. Initially hesitant, Raju gradually uncovers a corporate conspiracy threatening the village's survival. The story blends elements of action, social commentary, and satire, setting it apart from standard genre fare of its time.

The film features a notable ensemble cast including Anushka Shetty, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh, Sunil, Ali, and Subbaraju. Music is by Mani Sharma, with cinematography by Yash Bhatt and Sunil Patel, and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad.
