Kuberaa Censored: Dhanush-Nagarjuna Film Gets Clearance By CBFC — But What Is The Rating And Runtime?

Kuberaa Censored: The upcoming multilingual film Kuberaa, starring Dhanush and Nagarjuna, has reportedly received clearance from the censor board ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on June 20, 2025. The social thriller, directed by Sekhar Kammula, has been granted a U/A 13+ certification by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with a confirmed runtime of 3 hours and 15 minutes.

Shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, Kuberaa will also release in Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The film features a prominent ensemble cast led by Dhanush as Deva, with Nagarjuna Akkineni, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in key roles. Sayaji Shinde appears as SI Ashok Godbole, while the supporting cast includes Divya Dekate, Koushik Mahata, Saurav Khurana, Col. Ravi Sharma, and Hareesh Peradi.

D51 to Kuberaa: Title Journey, Teasers, and Track Releases

The film, originally announced in June 2021 under the working title D51 to mark Dhanush's 51st lead role, underwent several title considerations before settling on Kuberaa. The film's development saw the involvement of Nagarjuna, prompting the team to briefly refer to the project as DNS - referencing Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Sekhar.

Filming took place across Hyderabad and Mumbai, with cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy and editing handled by Karthika Srinivas. Production design responsibilities have been handled by Thota Tharani. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, reuniting with Dhanush for the third time and collaborating with director Sekhar Kammula for the first.

The promotional campaign for Kuberaa has already begun. The first single, titled "Poyiraa Mama" in Telugu and "Poyivaa Nanba" in Tamil, was released on April 20. This was followed by the release of the second track, "Anaganaga Kadha" / "Kadha Kadha Kadhai," on June 2. A teaser titled Trance of Kuberaa premiered on May 25, offering audiences a glimpse into the film's tone and scale.

Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd, the film is presented by Sonali Narang. With a packed cast and technical crew, Kuberaa is one of the key theatrical releases of the month. The team is expected to intensify promotions in the coming days as the release date approaches.
