List of Telugu Theatrical Releases THIS Week: With the dawn of a new entertainment day (Friday), Tollywood movie buffs are gearing up for one of the busiest and most exciting weekends ahead, after the Holi weekend. Beginning the early summer season of the film industry this year, a lineup of interesting movies hitting the big theatres and OTT screens is discussed here.
After a long time, Nithiin is going to hit the screens with his lucky charm, Venky Kudumula, with a heist action-comedy titled Robinhood. The hyped and awaited sequel to the Mad movie, a youthful comedy-drama by Kalyan Shankar MAD Square is competing with Robinhood. In addition to the Telugu movies featuring notable productions and star casts, the dubbing movies that are going to hit the Telugu screens are more this weekend.
Salman Khan, Vikram, Mohanlal, and Prithviraj Sukumaran are ready to unleash their mad mania with the stellar releases of Sikandar, Veera Dheera Sooran, and Empuraan, a sequel to Lucifer (L2: Empuraan). Check out the details below.
Robinhood
Nithiin's upcoming release written and directed by Venky Kudumula in their second collaboration is titled 'Robinhood.' The movie stars Sreeleela and has Australian Cricketer David Warner in an interesting cameo. The movie's theatrical release is on March 28 and GV Prakash Kumar composed the film's music. Robinhood is a heist action-comedy and not much is revealed about the film's story. Robinhood is the costliest film in actor Nithiin's career so far and Mythri Movie Makes spent about Rs 60 Crore on its filming. The theatrical trailer is going to be out shortly.
Mad Square
The exciting sequel to Kalyan Shankar's directorial Mad (2023), produced by Sai Soujanya and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainment production is coming to the screens on March 28. The movie's trailer was released recently and it is promising. The movie stars Narne Nithiin, Sangeeth Shobhan, and Vishnu Oi. Advance bookings for the MAD Square have been opened and the trend is looking upwards with a good prediction for the opening day. There are high hopes for this film as it assures double the mad fun and the team is confident of repeating the success and a bit more. The trailer is below.
Telugu Dubbing Releases
Lucifer 2: Empuraan
Written by Murali Gopy and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and several notable actors like Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith, Suraj Venjaramoodu in pivotal roles is a sequel to Lucifer. Prithviraj Sukumaran is also playing a prominent role in the movie which is produced by Mohanlal's Aashirvad Cinema banners in association with Subaskaran Allirajah's Lyca Productions (their maiden Malayalam film). The movie's theatrical trailer just dropped and it soared the expectations manifold. The movie boasts of talented cast and is going to hit the screens in five languages on March 27 worldwide. Veera Dheera Sooran
Chithha fame S U Arun Kumar joined hands with none other than the epic actor Vikram. The movie which goes by the name Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2, is going to be released on a pan-India level on March 27. In Telugu, the title is tweaked accordingly to 'Veera Dheera Soora.' It stars Dushara Vijayan and Siddique in key roles. The movie is an action-thriller and has its music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Veera Dheera Sooran is the story of Kaali, a grocery store owner and his family, who is suspected of living a second life.
Sikandar
Featuring the mighty Salman Khan in his first-ever and crazy collaboration with AR Murugadoss, Sikandar is the latest action thriller starring Rashmika Mandanna and Kajal Aggarwal as the two female leads. The movie showcases Salman Khan in a dual role- Sanjay Rajkot and Sikandar and was made on a budget of Rs 200 Crore by Sajid Nadiadwala. The songs of Sikandar are composed by Pritam while Santhosh Narayanan worked on the film's background score. The movie is hitting the screens in standard and IMAX formats on March 30.
