Mahesh Babu Gets Legal Notice For Endorsing Real Estate Firm Accused Of Misleading Buyers
Mahesh Babu is facing legal challenges related to his endorsement of Sai Surya Developers. Allegations claim the actor misled buyers concerning non-existent plots. Despite these claims, Babu has yet to respond publicly.

Tollywood star Mahesh Babu is embroiled in legal issues due to a previous endorsement deal. The actor, who has not yet commented on the situation, is facing allegations related to his association with a real estate company. Legal notices have reportedly been issued by the Ranga Reddy District Consumer Commission in Telangana.
In April 2025, Mahesh Babu was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding a money laundering case involving Sai Surya Developers and the Surana Group. According to PTI, Kancharla Satish Chandra Gupta, the firm's owner, was already under investigation for defaulting on a project named Green Meadows. Authorities clarified that Mahesh was not accused and seemed unaware of any wrongdoing, having endorsed the project in good faith.
Legal Allegations Against Mahesh Babu
A Hyderabad-based doctor filed a complaint against Mahesh Babu and Sai Surya Developers. She alleged being defrauded out of Rs 34.8 lakh after purchasing non-existent plots. The Guntur Kaaram actor is named as the third respondent, accused of endorsing the developer and misleading buyers through promotions.
The complaint suggests that Mahesh Babu's endorsement of Sai Surya Developers played a role in building customer trust. As of now, neither Mahesh Babu nor his team has made any public statements regarding these allegations.
Past Legal Controversies
Mahesh Babu has faced legal challenges before. During Arjun's release in 2004, he and fans allegedly entered video stores in Warangal to protest pirated CDs. He faced charges under Indian Penal Code sections for trespass and mischief but was acquitted in July 2006 after surrendering in September 2004 and appearing in court in April 2006.
In another instance from 2017, novelist Sarath Chandra (RD Wilson) accused Srimanthudu's creators of copying his story Chachenta Prema without consent. While the Telangana High Court dismissed claims against Mahesh Babu, it allowed proceedings against director Koratala Siva. The Supreme Court upheld this decision in January 2024.
