Nandamuri Balakrishna Receives Padma Bhushan Award: Tollywood's highly successful veteran, the MLA of Hindupur, Nandamuri Balakrishna, was conferred with the coveted third-highest civilian honour by the government of India. He finally received the prestigious Padma Bhushan award with the memento and appreciation from the central government for his contribution to the field of Arts. The President of India, Draupadi Murmu, presented the award in a select and invitee-only event that took place in New Delhi on April 28. The 'Bhagavanth Kesari' actor was cheered and applauded as he proceeded to receive the award.
After the actor was announced as the recipient of the highly respectable award, Nandamuri Balakrishna threw a party to his friends, family, and Tollywood insiders at his farm house in Hyderabad. All the members of the Nara and Nandamuri family along with close circle of family friends were present during the event that celebrated 'Balayya' for his recognition. The actor-politician has been delivering back-to-back films at the box office that are earning over Rs 100 Crore, since the last three years. All of his films were profitable and made more money to the producers.
Nandamuri Balakrishna's Telugu Avatar Steals The Show
The Akhanda actor chose to go all out in showcasing his roots and culture at one of the most iconic events of his life. Although strictly a private affair, Nandamuri Balakrishna utilized the opportunity to exude charm in a pure silk Gold and Ivory coloured Dhothi (Panche Kattu) with a Kanduva (Shawl). In the video that was released by the ANI to the media, Nandamuri Balakrishna was seen sporting a slim moustache, which changed his entire look from his previous outings and public appearances. His confident walk and grace radiated all over as he posed with the award.
At the same event, Ajith Kumar, who hit the screens with Adhik Ravichandran's 'Good Bad Ugly' movie was also presented the same honor for his contributions to the Tamil cinema (Kollywood).
After receiving the Padma Bhushan award, Nandamuri Balakrishna reacted to the achievement and honor. He said, "I am overjoyed. I have 4500 registered fans and I am thankful to all of them. I also thank the Government of India. In 50 years of career, my work as an MLA, my hospital is one of the five big hospitals in the country and this is a matter of great joy. I thank everyone. People told me that I should have been awarded the Padma award much earlier, but I told them that the timing is right because I gave four hit films, it has been 15 years since I became the Chairman of Cancer Hospital, and I have completed 50 years as an actor."
