Odela 2 Censored: Tamannaah-starrer Horror-Thriller Gets Adults-Only Certificate With A Decent Runtime

Odela 2 Censor Certificate, Runtime, Pre-release Event: In a latest horror-thriller that was written and co-produced by Sampath Nandi titled 'Odela 2,' Tamannaah will play a never-seen-before role of a female Aghora. Directed by Ashok Teja, the movie is a sequel to the popular film 'Odela Railway Station.' Tamannaah is going to hit the Tollywood screen in a protagonist's role after a very long time and pinned all her hopes on the film. The theatrical trailer of Odela 2 also looks quite promising. The 'Kavaala' song actress played the role of a female Aghora who visits Odela village and heads for a face-to-face with a vengeful spirit.

Odela 2 Pre-release Event Hyderabad

Odela 2 movie is going to be released in multiple languages on April 17 worldwide in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. The movie's pre-release event is scheduled to take place today (April 14) at a private Hotel in Hyderabad with Sharwanand as the guest. The actress, the film's cast and crew will take part in the event that will mark the vigorous promotional activity for Odela 2.

Odela 2 Gets Censored

Ahead of the hyped and awaited theatrical release, Odela 2 movie got CBFC clearing with a strict 'A' (Adults-Only) certificate. For the film's horror and gore content, the movie is awarded an A. It has a runtime of 1 hour 11 minutes for the first half and 1 hour and 13 minutes for the second half, putting together a total runtime of 142 minutes.

Speaking about Odela 2, filmmaker Sampath Nandi, who wrote the film's story, dialogues, screenplay, and co-produced it said, "The movie is a battle between soul and supernatural power. It is spirit versus supreme power. The idea originated from my childhood memories and my grandmother was a Shiva Shakthi-she would go into trance often and people often approached her with their issues. I grew up seeing all that and later learned that Shiva Shakthis' become Naga Sadhus and help restore temple. This is the core idea.

We just left a small hint at the end of Odela Railway Station and the sequel wasn't intentional. It was director Ashok Teja who coerced me to work on a sequel.

Tamannaah and I have worked previously and when I wrote the character of Shiva Shakthi, I had her in mind. Because of her strikingly fair complexion, the look test didn't come through properly. We then went ahead with her no-makeup look as the actress's skin turned pink due to sun exposure. Designer Neeta Lulla finalized her look following the references.

The visual effects for the film turned out great and about 150 artists have worked on it for six months."

Odela 2 Synopsis

In Odela village, Tirupati (Vassishta Simha) abducts and kills newly married women after the day of their marriage. Radha, his wife (Hebah Patel) finds out about this and beheads him. She surrenders to the police. In the sequel, Tirupati is seen becoming a malevolent spirit who continues to torment the villagers after his death. Shiva Shakthi (Tamannaah), who is a devotee of Lord Shiva and lives the life of an Aghora enters Odela village and faces the evil spirit of Tirupati.

The movie's digital rights for post-theatrical OTT release are secured by one of the leading OTT giants, Amazon Prime Video. The streaming platform spent Rs 18 Crore for the rights in all languages.

The supernatural thriller stars Tamannaah Bhatia as Shiva Shakthi, Hebah Patel as Radha, Vasishta N. Simha as Tirupati, Murali Sharma as Allah Bakshu, Sharath Lohisaswa, Yuva, Naga Mahesh, Vamsi, Gagan Vihari, Surender Reddy, Srikanth Iyengar, Bhupal, and Pooja Reddy among others in key roles.

Written by Sampath Nandi and directed by Ashok Teja, the movie was produced by D Madhu under the Madhu Creations banner in association with Sampath Nandi Teamworks. B. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the film's music and score. Avinash and Soundararajan worked as Odela 2 movie's editor and cinematographer respectively.
